Municipal social media platforms - like all others - are subject to attacks by hackers. The City of Aachen operates official channels on Instagram, Facebook, Mastodon, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube and LinkedIn.

It expressly points out that it does not request any data from its users. If you want to be sure that an account is correct, compare the name given with the following official platforms that offer comprehensive information on the city of Aachen (only the largest are listed here):
