City, country, on foot: Aachen takes part in Germany-wide campaign

This year, the city of Aachen is once again taking part in the Germany-wide exercise campaign "Stadt - Land - zu Fuß". Until November 21, 2025, all Aachen residents can collect the kilometers they have covered on foot.

Last year, almost 100 participants took part in the campaign and covered an impressive 7,067 kilometers on foot. This year, the city wants to motivate even more people to walk and actively do something for their health and the environment over the next few weeks.

It's easy to take part: every step counts - whether on the daily commute to work or school, a walk through the park or a jog.

As with the already established "City Cycling" campaign, the focus of "City - Country - on Foot" is not on competition, but on having fun while exercising and promoting walking as the most sustainable form of mobility. The campaign is not only intended to strengthen the immune system ahead of the cold season, but also to encourage more environmentally friendly and healthier everyday mobility.

In addition, the campaign strengthens the sense of community: participants can form teams and compete with other Aachen groups or clubs - adding to the team spirit.

A practical innovation this year: team leaders can enter the kilometers collected by their entire group via a shared account. This function facilitates participation and provides a better overview when collecting kilometers.

Registration is easy via the "Stadt-Land-zu-Fuß" app or the following website: www.stadtlandzufuss.de
