Youth shapes the future: First future workshop for Aachen
How can young people in Aachen have a say and a say? Which participation formats suit their living environment and what do young people want for the future? These questions are the focus of the first "Future Workshop on Youth Participation", to which the City of Aachen's Youth Participation Department is inviting young people on Thursday, November 6. The event will take place from 4.30 to 7 p.m. in the city's OT Talstraße. Young people can still register now.
The future workshop is all about young people's ideas: How can the participation of young people in Aachen be strengthened? In three exciting workshops, young people can contribute their opinions and develop new ideas together with other young people. Heinrich Brötz, Head of the Department for Education, Youth and Culture, explains why this is so important:
"It is important for the liveable future of our city that young people can contribute their ideas, their interests and their creativity. The Zukunftswerkstatt is all about listening to young people, understanding their concerns and working together to find formats for political participation that suit their lives." The Future Workshop is a place where young voices are heard - openly, creatively and at eye level!
Procedure and program
After the welcoming address, a joint exchange will begin with exciting discussions and creative rounds of ideas on the question of how youth participation can be strengthened in Aachen. Afterwards, there will be a break with pizza, drinks and small hands-on activities. Finally, the results from the workshops will be presented in plenary and discussed together.
