Tree felling on the Amsterdamer Ring
The tree maintenance team of Aachen's municipal services is carrying out maintenance work on both sides of the Amsterdamer Ring between Lütticher Strasse and Vaalser Strasse. This includes the removal of 30 trees that have developed poorly due to the dense tree population and the resulting lack of light. Many of the trees have grown at an angle, some have rot and bark damage and are therefore endangered in their stability. As a result of the felling, the remaining trees, mainly maples, birches and hornbeams, have a much better opportunity to develop healthily and grow well.
The work will be carried out in the coming week, between Monday, November 24 and Friday, November 28. There may be slight temporary restrictions for users of the cycle path. Cyclists are asked to push their bikes past the temporary construction site.
All felling work has been coordinated and approved by the tree protection division of the city's Climate and Environment Department.
