3RIDES Aachen: New venue and new route

The event program around the 3RIDES Festival has a new venue. This year, it will take place on the private grounds of Schumag AG Nerscheider Weg in Aachen Schleckheim. The start and finish area for the bike races will also be located there. The two bike races 3RIDES Gravel Race and 3RIDES Gran Fondo will be the focus of the event next weekend.

On May 31, the UCI 3RIDES Gravel Race will start at 3 p.m. on roads, forest and woodland paths in the southern part of Aachen, the municipality of Roetgen and the town of Stolberg. The participants will ride two circuits through the areas of Nütheim, Schleckheim, Oberforstbach, Brand, Hahn, Rotterdell, Roetgen, Schmithof and Sief.

On June 1, the UCI 3RIDES Gran Fondo road race will take place from 7 a.m. with a 140-kilometer route through the northern Eifel to the Rursee and back to Aachen. The road race leads via Oberforstbach to Walheim, Breinig, through the district of Düren and the municipality of Simmerath and from there back to the event site in Aachen.

As the licensing authority, the City of Aachen, together with the municipalities concerned, the district of Düren and the Aachen city region, has drawn up comprehensive, restrictive requirements and conditions that specifically define the permitted closing times in particular.

The road will be opened to private traffic for both bike races after a closing time of 60 minutes at the latest (approximately 15 minutes closing time, which is necessary to ensure that the roads are free of private traffic and a maximum of 45 minutes after the first cyclist). Participants who come behind the final vehicle are no longer part of the race and are subject to the road traffic regulations.

Further information, route maps and the established crossing points can be found in a flyer on the organizer's homepage. During the race, the organizer's hotline can be reached on 0521/73 06 99 37.
