Inspired, informed and motivated to take action: On May 16, 2025, "Klima Plus" will open its doors for the first time at AachenMünchener-Platz 5 - with a varied program (see below).

This creates a contact point in the middle of the city that is intended to inspire and empower climate-friendly action in the private and business environment. In the rooms, climate-relevant future topics can be experienced and grasped. Due to the central role of the altbau plus association in the development of Klima plus, advice on the topic of "building refurbishment" is a core offering. Other key topics are "energy efficiency", "resource conservation" and "climate neutrality". The latter is covered by the "Climate-neutral Aachen 2030" office, which manages the network of signatories to the Aachen Climate City Agreement.

The motto of the future Klima plus offer is: What can I do? The aim is both to arouse curiosity and to provide answers to specific questions.

Ceremonial opening with artistic conquest of the location by the Theater K Aixotic Sambistas, dance ensemble Mini-A-Tour and Heribert Leuchter, unveiling of the new rooms and the starting signal for the new contact point for climate-related future topics in the presence of Lord Mayor Sibylle Keupen and the Chairwoman of the Committee for the Environment and Climate Protection of the City of Aachen, Iris Lürken.

Following the unveiling, all guests are invited to visit the new premises for the first time, to try out and find out more. Come and talk to the team from the altbau plus association and the Climate Neutral Aachen 2030 office! Physics applies to all people. It is universal. So no one can escape the basic laws of physics. The changes in our atmosphere are not a normal change, but an epochal upheaval. The effects will continue to have an impact for thousands of years and countless generations to come. What are the fundamentals of a changed atmosphere and how should weather events be classified? What do we need to know in order to correctly assess the current situation - for the present and the future? ZDF weather presenter Özden Terli talks about current climate developments at the Cineplex on the occasion of the opening of Klima Plus.

Özden Terli has been an editor and presenter in the ZDF weather department since 2013 and can be seen regularly in the morning show, midday show, heute-journal and ZDF heute Nachrichten. In 2025, he was nominated for the Grimme Prize in the category "Special Journalistic Achievement" for "his vivid communication of the extent of the climate catastrophe". In 2022, medium magazin named him Journalist of the Year 2022 (3rd place) in the "Science" category. In 2021, Özden Terli received the 2021 Environmental Media Award from Deutsche Umwelthilfe in the "Television and Online" category.
