aachenbewegt" campaign: City launches a mobility challenge

In the city of Aachen, there are numerous mobility options that enable people to get to their destination quickly, conveniently and inexpensively. To bring this diversity to life, the city of Aachen is now launching its first mobility challenge.

On the website of the "aachenbewegt" campaign, tasks are published in the categories "Get to know & understand", "Try it out" and "Use it regularly", which present various mobility offers and encourage people to try them out. Further new tasks will be added over the course of the year.

By December 31, 2025, participants must provide five pieces of evidence in each of the Get to know & understand and Try it out categories and have collected one piece of evidence in the Regular use category. Those who manage to do so can submit the completed challenge booklet to the City of Aachen and take part in a prize draw. The prize is a weekend trip with overnight stay in the Aachen city region worth 1000 euros as well as numerous other great prizes.

Participation is open to anyone who is registered in the Aachen city region and is at least 16 years old. The Challenge booklets are available at all municipal service points for citizens and in the district offices. They can also be ordered by e-mail: mobilitaet.verkehr@mail.aachen.de.

A first highlight: Bicycle and Mobility Day on May 10

The first highlight of the Mobility Challenge is the Bicycle and Mobility Day on Saturday, May 10. It will take place at the Elisenbrunnen, Holzgraben and Dahmengraben. In addition to information stands, there will also be numerous offers and activities where stamps and certificates can be diligently collected.

Among other things, the popular high-bike school, a nostalgia playground and a bicycle course will be there again. Anyone who wants to can also borrow a cargo bike or find out more about topics such as road safety, accessibility, micromobility and car sharing. There is something for the whole family.
