Lecture "Edith Holländer: A biographical sketch"
The Volkshochschule Aachen (vhs) invites you to the lecture "Edith Holländer: Eine biografische Skizze" on Wednesday, April 2, at 7 pm in its premises at Peterstraße 21 - 25, room 241. The event is part of the series "Aachen 1944 and the path to democracy".
Edith Holländer married the banker's son Otto Frank in the Aachen synagogue in 1925. The couple moved to Frankfurt, where their two daughters Anne and Margot were born. In 1942, the family went into hiding in Amsterdam. Like Anne and Margot, Edith did not survive. She died in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in January 1945. Hans-Jürgen Serwe traces her life and reports on his research.
Registration is required. The lecture is free of charge.
