The Couven Museum is on the trail of fragrance
The Couven Museum is hosting two highlights as part of the program accompanying the exhibition "A fragrant collection! Flacons in all their facets" in March - fragrances are always involved.
On Friday, March 21 at 6 pm, crime writer René Anour will read from his book "Tödlicher Duft. A case for Commissaire Campanard". Grasse, the Venice of fragrances, is holding its breath. Eric Sentir, the country's most famous perfumer, has been found dead in his own creation, floating in a vat of blood-red camellia blossoms. A case for Commissaire Louis Campanard. Admission is 6 euros, concessions 3 euros. Please register at info@centre-charlemagne.eu or call +49 241 432-4956
On Sunday, March 23, the museum will open its doors free of charge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an action day with an extensive program on the exhibition theme. The guest of honor will be Johann Maria Farina from the famous family of Cologne scent makers. At 1 p.m., he will give a lecture on the 300-year history of Eau de Cologne and its links to Aachen.
The program also includes a guided tour of the exhibition with curator Carmen Roebers at 11 a.m., a tour of the house with Georg Tilger at 12 p.m. and a family tour of the flacon show with Dr. Monika Haas at 2 p.m.. A creative activity for families rounds off the program from 3 pm.
