Bushof complex: a net will soon protect the façade of the residential tower
The Aachen Bushof complex is jointly owned by the City of Aachen and Aachener Immobilien GmbH. As safety measures are required on the facades of the so-called residential tower, the owners have agreed on how to proceed. A specialist company has been commissioned to stretch a safety net of around 1,750 square meters across the façade by the end of March.
The work will not result in any restrictions on site. The method of netting in buildings is a tried and tested procedure that has already been used in other parts of the city. The measure is necessary because small pieces of the façade on the Bushof Tower have come loose in the past. This was discovered during inspections. The net continues to ensure road safety around the building.
The future use of the entire Bushof site and its various building tracts is currently the subject of political and public debate. This also includes aspects of how to deal with more extensive renovation measures. Until then, the residential tower will be secured by the now fixed plastic net.
