Kurfürstenstraße: Road reconstruction begins on Monday, March 17
Reconstruction work on Kurfürstenstraße will begin on Monday, March 17. The approximately 220-metre-long street between Oppenhoffallee and Oranienstraße will be completely renovated. The construction work will take up to eight months.
The existing layout of the road will be retained. The carriageway will be resurfaced at the end of all the work. In addition, nine tree fields will be planted. There will be benches at three of these tree fields in future. During the conversion, charging points for electric vehicles will be installed, 14 additional bicycle racks will be erected and delivery and loading zones will be signposted.
The extension is being built in sections around 50 meters long. The house entrances and garages are accessible at all times. However, there will be individual days on which access roads will have to be closed in phases and for short periods. The construction company will announce this early enough.
Politicians approved the conversion in May 2024 at a cost of around one million euros.
