Europe Direct: Informative and entertaining evening about Portugal

Half a century after the fall of a fascist regime in the Carnation Revolution of 1974, the former poorhouse Portugal has become a country firmly integrated into the EU. This was followed by a remarkable social liberalization of society.

The organizers EUROPE DIRECT Aachen, VHS Aachen and the European Classroom invite you to an informative and entertaining evening about Portugal. The event starts on Thursday, July 3 at 7 p.m. in the Forum of the VHS Aachen, Peterstraße 21-25. Registration is free of charge and can be done online at https://ogy.de/Portugal-2025.

Different facets of Portuguese politics, culture and history will be highlighted. Uli Brückner from Stanford University in Berlin will shed light on the current political situation and position in the EU. The country evening will be accompanied by suitable snacks and drinks and the popular pub quiz, where guests can win prizes.
