New event technology for the city of Aachen's cultural sector
As part of the ongoing development and professionalization of the city's cultural operations, the existing event technology in several cultural facilities has now been modernized. "In order to meet current requirements, a comprehensive new acquisition was necessary. This will enable us to guarantee high-quality events in the future," emphasizes Irit Tirtey, Managing Director of Kulturbetrieb.
As part of the extensive refurbishment of the "Space" event room in the Ludwig Forum, a fundamental technical modernization was carried out. The existing, outdated technology was partially defective and no longer met safety and event technology standards. In order to enable the space to be used for different event formats, from panel discussions and performances to media-supported lectures, it was necessary to renovate it.
"From the projector to the loudspeakers, we have now been able to bring our event technology up to date. The Kulturbetrieb was granted a subsidy increase, which enables us to offer our users perfectly equipped rooms for private celebrations and cultural events," says a delighted Irit Tirtey.
The existing sound and lighting technology in the Suermondt-Ludwig Museum no longer met today's requirements in terms of sound quality, operability and flexibility. Modern, reliable technology is required here, especially for lectures and special cultural events. The old system was increasingly causing faults, which had a negative impact on visitor satisfaction and the quality of the events.
The number of different event formats at the city library has increased in recent years. As the library did not previously have its own event technology, it regularly had to resort to cost-intensive rental equipment. This not only led to increased operating costs, but also restricted the planning and flexibility of events. Now that we have our own equipment, we can work more economically and efficiently.
The existing technical equipment in the Altes Kurhaus also needed to be expanded and supplemented in order to cope with the increased volume of use and ensure that everything ran smoothly. The existing technology was no longer sufficient for the growing requirements, especially for events with increased technical demands.
"Beyond the practical and technical aspects, modern event technology is also an important advertisement for the city's cultural sector. Professional equipment makes a significant contribution to increasing the attractiveness of our venues, reaching new target groups and promoting cooperation with external partners," emphasizes Irit Tirtey. Investing in modern event technology is a key step in ensuring quality, reliability and sustainability. "It is a strategic measure to sustainably strengthen the cultural infrastructure in Aachen."
