The "Long Table of Diversity" will be back at the Katschhof in August
The "Long Table of Diversity" will be set up for the third time at Katschhof on Saturday, August 30, from 12 noon. The City of Aachen invites all Aachen residents to join together to set an example for respectful coexistence, diversity and social cohesion. The event brings together people of all generations, cultures and backgrounds - for a large city picnic with music, discussions, information stands and diverse encounters. The Katschhof will once again become a place of encounter, exchange and participation.
The "Long Table of Diversity" is embedded in the "Festival of Diversity 2025", which offers a varied program this year. In addition to the "Long Table", it also includes the ceremonial presentation of the current "Diversity Award" by the Integration Council and the traditional naturalization ceremony. Due to the number of 2,326 newly naturalized citizens, this will take place over two days for the first time - on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August in Aachen Town Hall. Directly after the naturalization ceremony on Saturday, Lord Mayor Sibylle Keupen, together with a broad democratic alliance, invites people to the "Long Table of Diversity".
All Aachen residents are invited - in particular all associations, organizations and initiatives that are committed to diversity, participation, equal opportunities and the promotion of democracy. As civil society activists, they make an indispensable contribution to coexistence in Aachen. The "Long Table of Diversity" offers them the opportunity to make their work visible and to become part of the "Market of Diversity" with an information or food stand. The focus is on encounters, exchange and the strengthening of democratic values. The city picnic will be accompanied by a diverse stage program with music, dance and many other cultural contributions. Visitors are invited to bring their own picnic and share it with the people sitting next to them.
Interested groups, clubs and organizations can still register for the "Long Table" until 30 June at the email address Tafel-der-Vielfalt@mail.aachen.de. However, stand spaces are limited and will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received. For this reason, participation cannot be guaranteed.
