Aachener Wald: Felling work between the Monschauer Straße forest parking lot and the Pionierquelle spring
From now on, spruce trees will be felled in the area of the Monschauer Straße forest car park/horse traffic lights and the Pionierquelle spring as part of standard forestry measures. For this reason, various forest and bridle paths will be temporarily closed for several weeks, as will the playground at the Pionierquelle.
For safety reasons, the municipal forestry office in the Climate and Environment Department urgently requests that these barriers be observed and that neither the closed paths nor the work areas be entered. There is a danger to life from falling trees and working machines.
The felling work is important for the forest: over the course of the year, the remaining spruce trees will be underplanted in sections with shrubs and deciduous trees, thus ecologically enhancing the area.
