Snowfall: 67 deployments by the professional fire department and volunteer fire departments
From the start of the snowfall in the morning until 5 p.m. in the afternoon, the professional fire department and numerous volunteer fire departments in the city of Aachen responded to 67 incidents. The typical reports were trees toppled by the snow load and loose or snapped branches that threatened to fall.
Nine fire engines from the volunteer fire department were involved. Three fire engines are currently still in action or on standby in the fire stations.
Furthermore, there is an urgent warning against entering forest and parking areas, as there is still a risk of falling branches and falling trees.
