Local politics in the week from March 3 to 9
Three meetings will take place during the next local political week, which is shortened by the carnival days.
Wednesday, February 5
The meeting of the Aachen-Laurensberg district council begins at 5.30 p.m. in the meeting room of the associated district office on Rathausstraße. Among other things, two status reports will be discussed: one on the closure of Neuenhofer Weg due to a construction project by the company ABIOMED, and the other on the construction project "New central operating theater clinic". The redesign of the Vaalser Straße / Amsterdamer Ring / Halifaxstraße traffic junction will also be discussed.
Thursday, March 6
The Committee for Schools and Further Education will meet at 5 p.m. in the administration building on Mozartstraße (room 207). Three of the topics: an update of the school development plan for the secondary level, a resolution on the municipal standard number of classes in the 2025/26 school year and the final report on the "Good School 2020" funding program.
The Audit Committee will also meet at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Aachen Town Hall. The agenda includes a report on the audit of the 2023 annual financial statements. Two annual reports for 2024 will also be presented: one on the activities and focal points of the Compliance Office and one on the IT audit in NRW.
