"Sport in the Park" 2025: Sports clubs and sports providers apply now!
It's summer again: from Saturday, May 31, it's "Sport in the Park" again. Six weeks before the summer vacations, people will once again be able to work up a sweat in Aachen's green spaces. After the big sporting event was organized jointly by the City of Aachen and the Stadtsportbund Aachen for the first time last year - and only a kind of "Sport in the Park light" was possible due to the short planning time - the city and the Stadtsportbund want to really get going again in 2025. Aachen's Head of Sports, Dr. Markus Kremer, also patron of the event, is in the starting blocks: "'Sport in the Park' is a great project that gets tens of thousands of people moving every year: freely accessible and suitable for all fitness levels. I am happy that we can continue the project as a city together with our strong partner Stadtsportbund Aachen. And I am delighted that this year we will once again be able to pay the trainers and instructors for their great work. We owe this above all to our two partners STAWAG and Sparkasse Aachen, who have been committed to 'Sport in the Park' for the people of Aachen for many years. Thank you!"
Together with the Chairman of the Stadtsportbund Aachen, Björn Jansen, Department Head Kremer is calling on all interested sports clubs and sports providers to apply to the Stadtsportbund now. "I am delighted that we are once again able to organize the 'Sport in the Park' project together with the City of Aachen this year. This free exercise program offers everyone in Aachen the opportunity to get active - in an uncomplicated way and in the open air. At the same time, I see this as a great opportunity for our sports clubs: they can present themselves, publicize their offers and thus gain new members. My special thanks also go to our partners in sport, STAWAG and Sparkasse, without whose support this project would not have been possible. I cordially invite everyone to take part and discover the diversity of sport in Aachen!", Björn Jansen urges.
Both would be delighted if not only the loyal providers of previous years would get in touch, but also a few new, additional offers and all Aachen districts would be involved with one or more dates per week. Anyone who wants to bring "their" sport closer to the people of Aachen can contact theresa.hirtz@sportinaachen.de by email by Monday, March 24 - including a preferred day, time and location.
All those who have been involved for some time are asked to use the existing, established parks and green spaces if possible in order to simplify procedures. All course leaders should be qualified exercise instructors or have a comparable qualification. Please call 0241 475795-30 if you have any questions.
