"Menschen hautnah" reports on Ukrainians in Aachen and Herzogenrath
In the series "Menschen hautnah", WDR journalist and filmmaker Katja Garmasch will report on the lives of three Ukrainians in Aachen and neighboring Herzogenrath on Thursday, February 20 at 10:15 pm. How are you feeling after three years of war, after three years of flight? Has Germany become a home or are they sitting on packed suitcases? Are they managing to integrate in Germany or are they disillusioned? How are the refugees and their helpers faring? Katja Garmasch talks about this not only with the protagonists, but also with Rolf Frankenberger, the head of the city's Housing, Social Affairs and Integration department, for example.
"Menschen hautnah" is a multi-award-winning WDR series that portrays people and their personal life stories in documentary form. The result is films that get under your skin and at the same time provide a deeper understanding of socially relevant issues.
