Bundestag election: On-site postal voting possible from Monday
From Monday, February 10, Aachen residents can cast their vote for the Bundestag election directly at the electoral office. Anyone who has not yet applied for a postal vote can request documents on site with their election notification or ID card and vote directly. The electoral office at Blücherplatz 43 will be open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday. On the Friday before the election, February 21, postal voting is still possible on site from 8 am to 3 pm.
The district offices of Brand, Kornelimünster/Walheim, Laurensberg and Richterich offer postal voting on site during the same extended opening hours. In the districts of Eilendorf and Haaren, citizens can vote during normal local opening hours.
So far, the electoral office has already received around 44,000 postal vote applications. The documents will also be sent out successively from Monday, February 10. Anyone wishing to apply for postal voting now can do so until 3 p.m. on February 21. You can also apply for postal voting documents online at www.aachen.de/briefwahlantrag until February 19. The electoral office would like to point out that those entitled to vote by post bear the risk of failing to meet the deadline.
