In 2026, the Municipal Integration Center will continue to support valuable volunteer work for refugees and new immigrants in Aachen. Applications for funding from "Volunteering in the context of prevention" can now be submitted again for the prevention and successful integration of new immigrants and refugees.

The aim of the funding is to support projects that help new arrivals in Aachen to experience encouragement, receive orientation, participate in social life and overcome obstacles in the integration process at an early stage. The programme also focuses on promoting prevention and resilience against radicalization.

Eligible measures include accompanying people to the authorities and providing support with administrative steps, equipping or adapting rooms for meeting and support services, exchange and qualification formats for volunteers, measures for orientation and social participation for new arrivals as well as democracy education services.

In order to reach as many initiatives as possible, the maximum funding amount per association in 2026 is €2,500.

Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2026. Migrant organizations, sports and cultural associations, mosque associations, church communities, social associations and welfare organizations are eligible to apply.
