Experience Paris in the ballroom of the Couven Museum

On Wednesday, October 22 and Thursday, October 23, at 6 p.m., the City of Aachen's cultural department invites you to two readings by Prof. Dr. Angelica Rieger about "her Paris". The evenings at the Couven Museum will begin with a culinary introduction by star chef Christoph Lang from the Aachen restaurant "La Becasse". After these culinary delights, the evening moves into the ballroom, where the readings begin at 7 pm.

Prof. Dr. Angelica Rieger is a proven expert on French literature and the French capital. In "My Paris I", she takes the audience across the centuries to "her" Paris. She has selected some special personal highlights from literature, art and architecture. She starts in the Middle Ages, following in the footsteps of the most famous lovers of the 12th century, Abélard and Héloise. Later, she pays a visit to the Sainte-Chapelle. And she also pays homage to the beautiful lady with the unicorn, who is enthroned in the Museum of the Middle Ages, the Musée de Cluny.

"My Paris II" does not start in the Middle Ages, but in 19th century Paris. Readers can pay a visit to the French queens in the Jardin du Luxembourg before being whisked away to the world of Art Nouveau and the Belle Époque and experiencing contemporary street art in modern Paris.
