Parkflimmern 2025: open-air cinema in Kennedypark
A perfect end to the summer for all film fans: Nadelfabrik Aachen is once again inviting you to the popular "Parkflimmern" event series this year. From September 5 to 7, visitors can look forward to a varied open-air cinema experience on three evenings on the open-air stage in Kennedypark.
Parkflimmern opens on Friday, September 5, with a thriller and drama film based on true events. During the tenth day of competition at the Olympic Games in Munich in the summer of 1972, shots are suddenly fired. Eleven Israeli athletes are taken hostage by terrorists. The American ABC team broadcasts the events live. The initially pure sports coverage develops into a challenging report on terror. The film focuses on the ethical boundaries of journalistic work and its media responsibility.
On Saturday, September 6, the comedy "What does the lama want with the rifle?" will be shown. In the small Buddhist kingdom of Bhutan, all seems well with the world. At least until its king wants to make his people happy and introduces the internet and television. When democratic elections are added to the mix, there is great confusion among the population. The revered old lama has had enough, he announces an important ceremony and asks for a rifle. Everyone is eager to find out what will happen and what the lama intends to do with it.
To conclude the series of events, the French comedy "What's normal?" will be shown on the last evening, Sunday, September 7. Two petty criminals flee from the police and hide out in a vacation camp for people with disabilities. They try to disguise themselves as residents and caregivers and have a turbulent time with the group. The film takes an entertaining look at the topic of inclusion and prejudices against people with disabilities.
The movies start at 8:15 pm. Admission is free and fresh crêpes are available to buy.
The Parkflimmern is organized in cooperation with the "Wegweiser in der Region Aachen" advice centre.
The event will not take place in the event of bad weather. Further information is available at www.aachen.de/nadelfabrik.
