Lecture with discussion: Against the erosion of democracy
The Volkshochschule Aachen (vhs) invites you to a lecture followed by a discussion by Prof. em. Frank Deppe on Thursday, May 8, at 7 pm. The event entitled "Against the erosion of democracy" is part of the series "Aachen 1944 and the path to democracy".
Right-wing populism, militarization and social cuts as reactions to the multiple crisis: 80 years after the liberation from fascism, is there a threat of a return of the authoritarian state in Europe and the USA? Or are the self-healing powers of democracy today so strong that not only the rise of the extreme right, but also the extreme concentration of power and wealth at the top of society can be stopped? Prof. em. Frank Deppe was Professor of Political Science in Marburg until 2006.
A cooperative event organized by NRWeltoffen and "Arbeit und Leben Aachen".
Registration at https://www.vhs-aachen.de/kurz/iwgr/kurs/Wider-die-Aushoehlung-der-Demokratie/251-02219 is required. The lecture is free of charge.
