Thu 19.09. at 11.00 a.m.
This year, Intercultural Week is taking place nationwide from September 22 to 29 under the motto "New Spaces". The focus is on diversity and cultural participation for all.
Against this backdrop, the Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum in Aachen presents itself as an accessible and open museum with a wide-ranging program, including all-day activities such as a multilingual rally through the museum and a journey through time to the top pieces in the medieval collection, which
can be explored in German, English, Dutch, Turkish and Arabic.
The program will continue to include guided tours for people of all ages in German, Arabic and Turkish throughout the weeks, opening up a new perspective on works of art and handicrafts in the Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum.
The "ART Slam: Poetry Slam meets visual arts" promises to be a special highlight!
on Thursday, September 26. In collaboration with the IMSU, a new version of the poetry slam was created: an ART slam! After a guided tour of the artworks selected by the slammers, the poets from RWTH Aachen University and IMSU will compete against each other with texts they have written themselves. The overall theme of the slam is "Identity". The ART Slam is not only about combining literature and art, but also about showing young and different perspectives on the collection.
Admission is free, but binding registration is required by 22.09.: eventslm@mail.aachen.de. Admission is from 4.30 pm.
Another focus of the theme week is the Day of Refugees on Friday, September 27. In addition to a multilingual guided tour on the topic of "Refugees in art", there will be an artistic workshop under the motto "What is home for you? Is it a color, a scent, a language or a place?" with the Lebanese artist Nibal Farhat. Early registration is also required here. A guided tour in Turkish of the current temporary exhibition "Nord Nordwest. Carl Schneiders, Aachen and the Sea" rounds off the Intercultural Week on the final day.
