Aachener Stadtbetrieb is having a retaining wall in Nirmer Straße, in the area of the access road to houses 2 to 6, renovated. A large part of the angled retaining wall in question will have to be replaced and the foundation renewed. In order to ensure access to the aforementioned houses for residents and the emergency services during the construction period, the work must be carried out from above, from Nirmer Straße. The work will begin on Monday, December 2 and is expected to be completed by Friday, December 20.

In order to carry out the work, one side of Nirmer Straße will be closed from the Von-Coels-Straße junction in the direction of Auf dem Foerbrich Straße, including the sidewalk. A no-stopping zone will also be set up in the area described. Traffic will be regulated by temporary traffic lights. The sidewalk on the opposite side of Nirmer Straße will remain free.

The work may result in noise and dirt pollution. Appropriate protective measures will be taken to keep this to a minimum. In view of the poor condition of the retaining wall, the work at this point in time is absolutely essential and cannot be postponed. This is the only way to guarantee that road safety is maintained.
