Local politics in the week from November 25 to December 1

The year-end spurt begins: In the last week of November, the number of local political meetings increases once again. A total of eight are on the calendar. Three district councils meet on Wednesday.

Tuesday, 26 November
The Culture and Theatre Operations Committee meets in the Mozartstraße administration building, room 207, at 5 pm. The agenda includes the exhibition plans from 2025 to 2027 for the Ludwig Forum, the Suermondt-Ludwig Museum and the Centre Charlemagne, Sunday opening and the organizational concept of the city library as well as the price adjustments for the municipal theater and music directorate from the 2025/2026 season.

At the same time, the operating committee for Aachen's municipal company will be meeting in the Liebigstraße 50 administration building from 5 p.m. Three of the topics: the 2025 fee requirement calculations for waste and street cleaning fees as well as the options for citizens to draw water for watering public trees and plant beds.

Wednesday, 27. November
The Integration Council, which meets in the Council Chamber of Aachen City Hall from 5 p.m., will discuss topics such as a recommendation from the Integration Council on the implementation of an anti-discrimination office for discrimination in schools, two campaigns - "More than you can see" by the State Integration Council and on language diversity in 2025 - and information on the 2025 Integration Council elections.

The district council in Aachen-Laurensberg, which meets in the district office on Rathausstraße, will discuss topics such as the status report on the 2024 timetable measures, the cycling connection between Campus Melaten and Laurensberg and the dedication of a branch of Krefelder Straße in the area of the prison from 5.30 pm.

In Aachen-Haaren, the district council meeting in the Bürgerhaus on Germanusstraße will not start until 6 pm. Three topics: a status report on the funded project "Haaren clever mobil", the funded project "Rad-Vorrang-Route (RVR) Haaren" and the 2024 timetable measures, including an outlook for 2025.

The Aachen-Eilendorf district council will also be meeting from 6 p.m. at the district office on Heinrich-Thomas-Platz. Among other things, the allocation of district investment funds for 2024, the status report on the 2024 timetable measures and one on municipal construction projects, in particular the Montessori school, will be discussed.

Thursday, November 28
There is only one agenda item in the public part of the Audit Committee, which meets at 5 pm in the Council Chamber of Aachen City Hall: a report on the achievement of key figures in the current year.

The Committee for Schools and Further Education meets in room 207 of the Mozartstraße administration building from 5 pm. A report on current school construction measures, a status report on the digital school competence team and the provisional enrolment figures for Aachen's elementary school for the coming school year 2025/2026 are just three of the topics.
