City cleaning: City council decides to increase fees
On Wednesday, December 4, the Aachen City Council unanimously decided to increase street cleaning fees in the city of Aachen, following the recommendation of the Aachen Municipal Works Committee on November 26. The fee increase will come into force on January 1, 2025 and will apply for two years.
The annual fees per cleaning meter will increase as follows:
Cleaning class S4 from 7.85 euros to 9.08 euros
Cleaning class S5 from 15.69 euros to 18.16 euros
Cleaning class S6 from 23.54 euros to 27.24 euros
Cleaning class S7 from 39.23 euros to 45.40 euros
Cleaning class S8 from 1.58 euros to 1.77 euros
In this context, changes to the cleaning frequency in selected streets were also decided, as well as a reclassification of the cleaning classes.
The fees for winter road maintenance per meter will decrease in all urgency levels.
Urgency level 1 from 1.23 euros to 1.12 euros
Urgency level 2 from 0.98 euros to 0.90 euros
Urgency level 3 from 0.74 euros to 0.67 euros.
The fee changes will come into force on 1 January 2025 and will apply for two years.
