Traces Blown Away
by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and his family
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, a native of Aachen, left behind a quiet legacy in the city. Although two buildings designed by him have since
been identified, the traces of his time in Aachen remain obscure. The first guided tour sheds light on the places associated with his childhood, education, and early works, leading from his birthplace through various chronologically arranged stops to the train station. The second tour focuses on the homes and workplaces of his family and his brother Ewald, and leads along Vaalser Straße to the Westfriedhof.
