City Walk—More Than Just Lighting: A New Perspective on Safety and Urban Space

Who owns the night?
In early 2026, the city of Aachen launched the survey “The Night Belongs to Us.” 4,625 people shared their views on their sense of safety in Aachen’s
nightlife and discussed their experiences, perceptions, and wishes.
On the eve of the conference, a city walk led by Ann Juergens will take place to facilitate a discussion of different perspectives on urban planning.
