Study Trip to the European Court of Justice
Trip to the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg on November 13, 2026. Registration
is only possible from October 5 (8:00 a.m.) through October 14, 2026 (12:00 p.m.) The
EUROPE DIRECT Center in Aachen is once again offering a free study trip to the Court of Justice of the European Union. The Court’s role is to ensure that the law is upheld in the interpretation and application of the European Treaties. For example, the Court reviews the legality of the actions of the institutions of the European Union and ensures that the Member States fulfill and uniformly apply the obligations arising from the Treaties.
Draft Program:
Before the guided tour of the Court of Justice, the group will make a brief visit to the Historical Museum of the City of Luxembourg (Letzeburg City Museum). In addition to the city’s ancient history, the museum also covers topics from more recent history, consistently drawing parallels between the past and the present. Please
note that this study trip is not a tourist trip and therefore does not include a city tour or similar activities.
Due to the long distances and numerous stairs at the Court of Justice of the European Union, this study trip is unfortunately not suitable for people with limited mobility. You should also be able to find your way around on your own during the brief stop in the city center.
Please provide your cell phone number so that communication in Luxembourg can be ensured in case of an emergency.
The following itinerary is planned (subject to change; more details will be provided after successful online registration):
