Living Library
On November 18, the City of Aachen invites you to the “Living Library” at the Depot, Talstraße 2, 52068 Aachen. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
The idea: Instead of paper books, people here share their own stories.
Five “books” will be available for conversation that evening. The themes are Shaping Democracy Together, Faith, Conscientious Objection, Donor Heart, and Addiction Self-Help.
Why do we need an initiative for democracy? What exactly does a Mormon believe? What do you say to someone who is supposed to serve in the military but doesn’t want to? What is it like to have a donor heart?
Whether it’s social challenges, cultural diversity, or extraordinary ideas: The “Living Library” offers the opportunity to break down prejudices, engage in dialogue, and ask questions that a paper book cannot answer.
The event is jointly organized by the City Library, the state program “Wegweiser,” the Municipal Integration Center of the City of Aachen, and the Depot.
Admission is free.
Prior registration at depot@mail.aachen.de is requested to aid in planning but is not required.
