Origin, Identity, Imagination. Perspectives on an Immigrant Society—Reading and Discussion with Nava Ebrahimi
Refuge, interculturalism, and migration are among the central themes explored by author and columnist Nava Ebrahimi. In her multi-award-winning books, such as “Sixteen Words” and “And Feathers Everywhere,” the author—who was born in Tehran, grew up in Cologne, and has lived in Graz since 2012—offers a literary exploration of the personal and political facets of the present day.
Together with Aachen’s Integration Commissioner Nenja Ziesen and Jelena Iyassu, an education specialist critical of racism (Bildungswerk Aachen and the “Wir alle Aachen” initiative), the winner of the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize will discuss the challenges of a society of immigrants and the potential impact of literature.
A collaboration between vhs Aachen (NRWeltoffen) and the Municipal Integration Center (KI) of the City of Aachen
