Somebody Wrong Blues Band
The Somebody Wrong Blues Band, one of the oldest still-active blues bands in the region, will be performing at the Aachen World Cup Special. Originally founded in
1983 as a purely student-run project, the band evolved into a sought-after act in the clubs and on the stages of Aachen and the surrounding area. Among other things, the band has performed as the opening act for the Manfred Mann Earthband at the Katschhof and has been booked to support rock legend Mitch Ryder and blues great Chris Farlowe. The band has also made regular musical appearances at the Aachen September Special in recent years.
The Somebody Wrong Blues Band stands for the best rhythm & blues in the tradition of the Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, blues greats like B.B. King and Muddy Waters, as well as the Tedeschi Trucks Band and J.J. Cale.
A powerful lead singer (Julianna Karacsonyi), three virtuoso guitarists (Henning Lichtenstein, Detlev Blaschke, and Albrecht Peltzer), and a groovy rhythm section (bassist Stephan Zielinski and drummer Chris Andrä) define the band’s sound. Building on the originals, the Somebody Wrong Blues Band has developed its very own style and captivates audiences with exciting and entirely fresh interpretations of classic rhythm & blues.
