HARPER

Newcomers, yet old hands! What

actually began in 2020 as a solo studio project led, in early 2024, to the idea of performing songwriter HARPER’s material live as a band. The result is a mix of art rock, R&B, glam, and funk, influenced by artists from the ’70s and early ’80s such as Bowie, Roxy Music, and the Talking Heads. The band, made up of experienced musicians from the Aachen scene, also ensures that the songs take on a contemporary and uniquely powerful vibe. The lyrics deal with life on both a small and large scale, the longing for security in times when nothing seems certain anymore, failure and new beginnings, and identity versus Instagram. And musically, this isn’t packaged in lethargic, depressing folk, but in punchy beats and riffs that signal that life goes on. A HARPER concert is just the thing for anyone who appreciates rousing grooves, originality, and technical skill.

HARPER are: Harper (vocals) / Chris Becker (guitar, vocals) / Dirk Reckert (drums) / Tom Schönberg (bass, vocals) / Dirk Sauer (keyboards, vocals).
