The “Tanzende Stadt” Festival Visits Aachen

This summer, the “Dancing City” will make stops in six cities across the Euregio. This year’s festival

series will kick off on August 14, 2026, in Aachen as part of the World Equestrian Games.

The Compagnie Irene K., the festival’s organizer, is pleased to present performances by international contemporary dance companies at select venues in downtown Aachen. Each of these companies brings its own style and artistic vision—a perfect example of cultural diversity. For the duration

of an afternoon, “The Dancing City” brings movement, poetry, and color to public spaces. Dance becomes part of its surroundings, transforming its venues for a brief, fleeting moment and opening up new perspectives. The event takes place outdoors, is free to attend, and offers entertainment for young and old alike.
