RENAUD MARQUART TRIO – FRENCH CHANSONS
Renaud Marquart, a native of Lorraine, France, who has lived in the Aachen area for 30 years, performs a varied program accompanied by guitar, featuring his own atmospheric songs from his four albums released to date, as well as lovingly selected well-known chansons such as “Amsterdam” (Jacques Brel), “La Rua Madureira” (Nino Ferrer), or “Aicha” (Khaled).
He sings in French, but that’s purely coincidental. It’s all about the music, the atmosphere, and the expression.
Renaud toured for many years with a seven-piece band; today he performs in an intimate, unplugged trio setting, supported by Martin Rohdich’s delicate guitar playing and Karen Massin on percussion and backing vocals.
