Park Flimmern: DJ Ahmet

Open-Air Movie Night at

Kennedy Park: On Saturday, September 5, the comedy “DJ Ahmet” will be shown.

Beats from a tractor: As 15-year-old shepherd Ahmet chugs through the hilly landscape of North Macedonia, bass-heavy songs boom from his homemade sound system. The electronic beats promise an escape from his conservative village community. Unfortunately, the nearest disco is impossibly far away, the local download speed is abysmal, and his strict father is doing everything he can to drive his love of music out of him. Only his mute brother Naim shares his enthusiasm—until the beautiful Aya, home on vacation from faraway Germany, moves in with the neighbors. The newcomer not only has excellent taste in music, an unbridled desire for freedom, and a penchant for TikTok dances, but also a cell phone with unlimited data. At secret raves in the fields, the two inevitably grow closer to the beat of the music—it’s just too bad that she’s already promised to someone else. To prevent the upcoming wedding, Ahmet and Aya launch a desperate attempt to break free from tradition.

The screening begins at 8:15 p.m. Admission is free. Feel free to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. A perfect way to end the summer for all movie fans! The open-air cinema is organized in cooperation with Wegweiser in the Aachen region.
In case of severe weather, the event will be canceled.
