Re:Build – Circular Construction as a CO₂ Sink and Circular Demolition
How can circular construction help make the building sector more climate-friendly? What role do circular design, selective demolition, and the use of secondary materials play in the transition to a resource-efficient construction industry?
As part of our Re:Build event series, Kempen Krause Ingenieure GmbH, a center of excellence for sustainable construction, along with Dipl.-Ing. Ines Naumann and Theresa Rüdiger, M.Sc., will demonstrate how circular planning approaches can already be successfully implemented in practice today. Using concrete examples, they will present strategies for keeping resources in circulation while simultaneously reducing CO₂ emissions.
Event Content:
The Circular Planning Approach – Prerequisites / Timeline in the Planning Process / Optimizing the CO₂ Footprint of Gray Energy / Added Value of the
Material PassportCircular Demolition – Requirements for Demolition Concepts / Status of Standardization / Field Test / Tools
; Practical example of circular construction as a CO₂ sink in a new school building
; Conclusion. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their questions with the speaker in an open discussion and exchange views on the challenges and potential of circular construction.
The event is aimed at architects, engineers, specialist planners, tradespeople, and anyone interested in learning about innovative approaches to a sustainable construction industry.
