City cycling 2026

As part of the city's "FahrRad in Aachen" campaign, Aachen is once again taking part in the Germany-wide city cycling competition(www.stadtradeln.de/aachen). From June 1 to June 21, 2026, all citizens in Aachen are called upon to pedal hard and enter their professional and private cycling kilometers in the online cycling calendar for the city of Aachen. Every kilometer counts!

To take part, you don't necessarily have to cycle more than usual and you don't have to give up your car either. It is enough for all cyclists in Aachen to register the kilometers they cycle anyway for the city of Aachen.

School classes, clubs and companies are invited to form their own teams and register at https://www.stadtradeln.de/registrieren/. Anyone interested can register now, but also at any time during the city cycling campaign, and enter the kilometers they have cycled in the online calendar. The calendar will be activated on June 1.

City Cycling Star
The aim of City Cycling is to cover as many professional and private journeys as possible by bike. The special Stadtradel-Star category offers the opportunity to go one step further - because Stadtradel-Stars are not allowed to see the inside of a car for 21 Stadtradel days in a row. School cycling competition
There is a school cycling competition for schools. The aim is to get pupils fit for cycling in everyday life and in their free time and thus promote the independent mobility of children and young people. This campaign enables participants to lay the foundations for sustainable mobility behavior later on at a young age. The most bicycle-active school is being sought in the school cycling competition. All participating schools will be welcomed in the Coronation Hall in December and presented with a certificate.
