Aachen Fire Brigade School

Fire department school of the city of Aachen

The City of Aachen Fire Brigade School is responsible for the basic and advanced training of all fire department personnel. In the full-time sector, this includes the basic training of fire officer candidates, fire chief inspectors and level trainees as well as the further training of all civil servants in the professional fire department. In the volunteer sector, the fire academy focuses on the training and further education of volunteer firefighters. This means we have to deal with more than 1,000 students throughout the year.

Craft training

We work together with the Aachen Chamber of Crafts to prepare school leavers for full-time work in the fire department.

Various internships at the stations

During their training, the fire officer candidates are fully integrated into the watch operations and gain valuable experience with the equipment.

De-escalation training

Conflict situations sometimes arise when dealing with people. In order to be prepared for this, the fire officer candidates undergo de-escalation training.

Strong team

The training of volunteer firefighters is organized by the fire academy and is in the hands of many dedicated volunteer instructors.
