Forst and its sub-areas Unterforst, Altforst, Schönforst, Forster Linde, Obere Trierer Straße and Driescher Hof will be strengthened for the future and made more attractive and liveable. From the Rothe Erde train station along both sides of Trierer Strasse to the 44 freeway, the quality of life and living conditions are to be visibly improved and cohesion in the neighborhood noticeably strengthened.

A work of art for Forst! - Winner of the vote
Many thanks for your active participation in the art competition Bunker Zeppelinstraße in Aachen-Forst!
A total of 481 people took part online and another 688 people voted online. But whether online or analog, the people of Aachen are unanimous: with over 60% of the votes, Jagama - Alex Jagama Shifferaw - emerged as the clear winner of the competition with his design "Forest with Fox". We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the winner!
JagamaWhat happens now?
The artist of the winning design is expected to install his artwork on the façade of the bunker facing Mataréstraße before the summer vacations in 2025. Aachen city council is currently preparing the awarding of the contract and is coordinating the actual implementation with the winner.

We are growing together - Forst / Driescher Hof - Neighborhood management 2024
As part of the urban development process in Forst and Driescher Hof, the neighborhood management team is constantly on the move to collect residents' needs and address them in projects. This creates meeting places for exchange, but also concrete offers of support. The following film shows the activities of the district office in 2024, all of which took place in cooperation with people from the neighborhood and the local institutions. City terraces
Parking spaces can be much more than just parking areas for cars: meeting places for the neighborhood, play areas for children, green oases... To make this potential temporarily visible at Trierer Platz, the so-called "City Terraces" will be set up in two areas around Trierer Platz from May 2 to June 3. They are on loan from Zukunftsnetz Mobilität NRW. With this rental offer, the advisory network for sustainable mobility services supports local authorities in demonstrating and trying out the potential gains in quality of stay for everyone. The four-week urban experiment is intended to test whether Trierer Platz can develop into a meeting place. Neighborhood festival at Trierer Platz
There was a lot to experience and discover at Trierer Platz on 04.05.2024: Music and theater performances, sports activities and various hands-on activities, information offers on topics such as the Forst district perspective, energy-efficient renovation or the offers of the tenant protection association as well as the opening of the temporary city terraces on Trierer Platz.

Disposal fund Forst
The Future Forst Development Fund provides financial support for your project idea in and for the district of Forst, with its six sub-areas Unterforst, Altforst, Forster Linde, Schönforst, Obere Trierer Straße and Driescher Hof. It helps to implement measures and projects in the district and supports the associated commitment of local citizens, stakeholders and institutions.
With the help of the Future Forest Disposal Fund, the development and implementation of your ideas for your neighborhood as well as participatory activities and networking are to be promoted. The focus is on identification with the district, integration in neighborhoods, strengthening the sense of belonging and social cohesion. Applicants can be institutions, associations and private individuals (citizens). Advice and assistance, from the idea to the application and project implementation, can be obtained from the Forst/Driescher Hof district office (Stettinerstraße 25) through the district management.
