Bicycle lanes in Brand
The Brand priority cycle route is the third route of the planned priority cycle network to be implemented. Its design is based on the implementation of the Eilendorf and Campus Melaten priority cycle routes. The route is part of the #AachenMooVe! funding project in the state competition for emission-free inner cities as part of the state program "Kommunaler.Klimaschutz.NRW", which runs from July 2019 to June 2022. In accordance with the decision of the Mobility Committee of 25.06.2020, the following streets will be designated as bicycle streets:
Aachen-Mitte district:
- Drimbornstrasse
- Obere Drimbornstraße
- Clermontstrasse
- Old street
- Sittarder Straße (section Schopenhauerstr. to Königsberger Str.)
- Danziger Strasse
- Herderstrasse
Aachen-Brand district:
- Wolferskaul
- Market street
The markings and signage of the cycle lanes comply with the design standards agreed by the Mobility Committee. In line with the objectives of the cycling decision, the cycle routes will also be colored red. The route starts and ends at the market square in Brand.
