The priority cycle routes (RVR) are intended to make cycling in Aachen more comfortable and safer. A total of 10 priority cycle routes are to be created. The first are under construction. More will follow. The priority cycle network was adopted in 2019 and has a total length of approx. 60 km. All outer city districts will be connected to the city center by a route. Comfortable and safe cycling through Aachen thanks to consistent signage across the entire Verlau, designation and design of cycle lanes, widening of independently guided cycle paths and improvement of the surface quality.
