City cycling campaign 2026 from June 1 to June 21

"FahrRad in Aachen" - City Cycling Campaign takes place this year from June 1 to June 21, 2026.

From June 1 to 21, Aachen will be competing against other cities in a cycling challenge. Sign up now and log your cycling kilometers in June. As part of the city’s “FahrRad in Aachen” campaign, Aachen is once again participating in the Germany-wide “Stadtradeln” competition this year. The “Stadtradeln” campaign focuses on promoting the bicycle as a zero-emission mode of transportation. Whether alone or in a group, every kilometer counts. School classes, clubs, and companies can form their own teams. Register here now. Starting June 1, the online calendar will go live, and every kilometer cycled can be entered.

Family members can also take part. You don't necessarily have to cycle more than usual and you don't have to give up your car either. Every kilometer counts! Take part.

2025

The city of Aachen once again took part in the nationwide "City Cycling" campaign from June 1 to 21, 2025. This time, 3,289 participants from Aachen covered 684,503 kilometers and thus ensured that 112,000 kilograms less carbon dioxide were blown into the atmosphere. In addition to Aachen, 3,013 other municipalities took part in "City Cycling" in 2025. Aachen came 109th in this year's ranking.

There is a school cycling competition for schools. The aim is to make pupils fit for cycling in everyday life and in their free time and thus promote independent mobility for children and young people. The city's "FahrRad in Aachen" campaign would like to call on all schools to take part in this campaign.
