In the year marking its 30th anniversary, the Youth Symphony Orchestra (JuSi)—a collaboration between the Aachen City Music School and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra—will perform twice at the end of September.
Under the direction of Alexander Scherf, the young musicians will perform works by Florence Price, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Antonín Dvořák. Violinist Wenxi Yao, a student in Prof. Nikita Nevolovitsch’s class (Cologne University of Music and Dance), will perform as soloist.
The series kicks off with a concert on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Städtisches Gymnasium Eschweiler, Peter-Paul-Straße 13.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, also at 6:00 p.m., a benefit concert will be held in the Kaufmann Hall (CT²) at Aachen University Hospital to benefit the Department of Palliative Care at Aachen University Hospital.
The Youth Symphony Orchestra offers talented young musicians the opportunity to perform major symphonic works and gain concert experience together. The close collaboration between the Aachen City Music School and the Aachen Symphony Orchestra has created ideal conditions for this for many years, combining the promotion of young musical talent with professional orchestral work.
