Prof. Rolke, director of the Department of Palliative Care at Aachen University Hospital, gave the young musicians a personal glimpse into the work of his department and his team.
"Our mission is to help people of all ages live out the final stages of their lives as independently and beautifully as possible."
Prof. Rolke spoke about work that is as rewarding as it is challenging—work that, despite the ever-present awareness of its transience, is also marked by many joyful and beautiful moments. For the young people, it was a special opportunity to learn what they will be performing on stage with their music on September 30.
That's because the JuSi is giving a benefit concert that evening to benefit the Department of Palliative Medicine at Aachen University Hospital.
