Application
Applications for funding can be submitted via the service portal of the City of Aachen.
Funding applications can only be approved if a funding amount of at least €500 is reached (de minimis limit). Please check that your application reaches the funding amount of €500 before submitting your application. Applications with a total funding amount of less than €500 will be rejected during the review process.
Please use the service portal to submit your application. There you will automatically receive a confirmation of receipt for your application.
The funding must be applied for and approved by the city before the measure begins. Implementation of the measure may only begin after receipt of the approval notice or approval for early commencement of the measure.
After registering your application, you will promptly receive a further message via the service portal confirming the early start of the measures. Upon receipt of this message, the specialist companies commissioned by you may begin with the requested measures. Approval of the early start of measures does not constitute a funding commitment and does not trigger any entitlement to funding. The funding program is a voluntary service provided by the City of Aachen. We can only determine whether and to what extent funding can be approved after a detailed examination and processing of the application documents.
Please also note the deadline of 18 months for implementing the measure in the guideline. After this period, the entitlement to payment of the grant expires.

Important information before applying for funding
Before submitting an application, you should familiarize yourself with the funding programme and the specified funding requirements for the individual measures. The most important questions can also be found in the document Application information sheet for download.
Exclusion of the tax reduction § 35c EStG
Refurbishment costs can only be taken into account once for tax purposes. If the City of Aachen subsidy or a state subsidy is claimed, it is no longer possible to apply to the tax office for tax depreciation of the refurbishment costs incurred in accordance with §35c EStG. Further information on depreciation in accordance with §35c EstG can be obtained from your local tax office.
Funding only possible for properties in the city of Aachen
Funding from the City of Aachen can only be applied for buildings in the city of Aachen. For properties in the Aachen city region, you can find out about the city region's funding programs here.
Minimum funding amount of € 500
Only applications that reach a minimum funding amount of €500 (gross) will be funded. Applications with funding amounts of less than €500 will be rejected. Please check whether the minimum amount is reached before submitting your application.
When must the application be submitted?
The application must be submitted before the measure is implemented. After submitting the application, you will receive confirmation of the early start of the measure in the Service Portal within a few days. Implementation can then begin.
Do you have meaningful offers for all eligible measures?
Your funding amount will be calculated on the basis of the offers submitted. If the offers do not correspond to the final order volume, your funding amount may be assessed as too low and can then no longer be increased for payment.
Are the required efficiency values clearly stated in the offer?
Offers from which the required U-values and verifications (see guidelines) cannot be taken will mean that the measure cannot be considered for funding. Please mark the relevant items in extensive offers. This will make processing easier for us.
Important: In offers to replace windows, the Ug-values are often stated in the offers (only the window glass). Proof of the Uw values is required for the subsidy (window frame and glass). Make sure that the Uw values are stated in the offers in order to receive the subsidy. The area of the windows is decisive for the window replacement. Always include a calculation of the window areas. This is not usually included in the quotation.
How can I apply for the bonuses?
Bonuses for the combination of different support measures can only be approved if the required measures are also applied for in the same application. To do this, select the relevant measures in the application and the corresponding bonuses. Corresponding offers must be attached to the application.
Funding conditions
As part of the subsidy program, grants are available for measures such as building insulation, window replacement and investments in building services. However, the relevant requirements of the funding program must be adhered to during implementation. The city places a particular focus on the use of ecological insulation materials and renewable energies. The funding program creates attractive framework conditions for this.

After completion of the measure, the services provided must be certified by the specialist company.
