06.03.2026: No more budget funds for promotion in 2026

On 03.03.2026, the Environment and Climate Committee recommended saving the budget funds for the funding program for energy-saving measures in buildings for 2026. The application process must therefore be closed. All applications received from 01.01.2026 onwards will not be processed.

Open applications received by 31.12.2025 can still be approved with budget funds from 2025 as long as sufficient remaining funds are available. Open applications from 2025 are currently still being processed and will receive a funding decision shortly if they are successful.
Funding that has already been approved from previous years will continue to be paid out once the measures have been completed and the required evidence has been checked.

04.11.2025: Submit application by 31.12.2025 and secure funding

The year 2025 is drawing to a close and the City of Aachen has once again received over 300 applications for funding for energy-saving measures this year. If you are planning a refurbishment measure, you still have the opportunity to secure funding for energy-saving measures in the City of Aachen's buildings.

All applications received via the service portal by 31.12.2025 can still be processed with the current budget funds from 2025. If the review is successful, a funding decision can be issued promptly. The prerequisite is that all required documents are submitted via the service portal before the deadline and the budget funds are not exhausted before then.
Therefore, submit your application as soon as possible and secure the funding for your project.

For applications submitted from 01.01.2026, the following applies: after receipt of the application, you will receive a confirmation with the possibility of starting the measure. However, you can only be assured of a funding commitment in the form of a funding decision once the 2026 budget has been approved. This is expected for the end to mid-May 2026 at the earliest. Information on this will follow.

05.06.2025: Once the 2025 municipal budget has been approved, the applications submitted can be processed again.

After application processing was initially stopped on December 31, 2024, the applications are now being processed again. The grant notifications for the applications submitted in 2025 will be processed promptly and in the order in which the applications are received. Please understand that processing may take some time. At present, you should expect to wait several months.

Furthermore, you will receive the "Approval for early start of measures" in the service portal shortly after submitting your application so that you can start implementing your planned measures and comply with the guideline requirement of "submitting the application before the start of the measure".

Please note: Approval of the early start of measures does not constitute a funding commitment.
