In the agricultural sector in particular, there are great opportunities and possibilities to enrich and enhance numerous and diverse habitats and thus contribute to a more diverse landscape and the promotion of biodiversity. Funding program for roof and façade greening
Extreme weather events such as heatwaves and heavy rainfall are becoming more frequent and more severe. In the Aachen basin in particular, high temperatures and local heat islands occur especially in the summer months due to dense development and extensive sealing of the ground. Climate change has long been a reality. Owners of private or commercial properties can help to improve the urban climate and take advantage of the city's new green roof and façade funding program.

Wildflower meadows for biodiversity in the city
Whether private or agricultural land, gardens, company premises, school, nursery or church grounds or a public area under sponsorship - the FLIP project promotes meadows in the city and StädteRegion Aachen. Thanks to the funding, high-quality wild plant seeds typical of the region are available free of charge for areas of any size. There are also workshops, events, practical tips and on-site advice.
